Day 16 - Ahhh the soreness

Yes today was all about the soreness. In a good way. I know I did my workout correctly at least. My calves are still sore from 2 days ago and my quads and triceps are sore from yesterday. All I had was HIIT today but it was tough. Plus I found out after I had already done it that I misinterpreted the directions and did twice as much as I was supposed to do! Oops! Well extra cardio is always helpful but boy my legs did not like it. Then I had Jujitsu tonight. So right now I can barely move. I think tomorrow I will be paying for this but it is a rest day so perfect timing. I am so enjoying this MS plan, it was made for me! I can't wait until tomorrow for some fruit, though, I have been extrememly low carb and today was no carb so it is a welcome change!
Just went around to everyone's blog and checked the progress - we as the Shredder Council are kicking some serious fat outta here!! It is so great to be a part of this I am so glad I decided to join up! Thanks all for the encouragement and kind words so far. I will be checking up again tomorrow but will be out of town until Sunday after that so don't be alarmed if I'm not commenting or replying to your comments for a few days. Just giving you all the heads up! I'll catch up when I get back and I'll still be e-mailing my pics to Adam (not quite sure how yet but it WILL get done)! See you all soon! Here's my pics for today, and Suzette, this smile's for you :) It's still little but it will get bigger!

Hello Joni,
I know exactly how you feel!
Guess what!?
I did the same mistake!! Misinterpreted the instructions and did double series and reps! :-)
Take protein after workout, before bed (with some milk) and first thing in the morning (as Adam said in day 5 video)
I also applied some “healing patches” on my muscles the first days to ease the soreness.
Keep going ! Results are already showing up!
Ciao.

How on earth did I get a post behind! You are doing so great. The improvement is so easy to see in your pics. I dig the way you write. I'm gonna check out your myspace. It's so cool you teach martial arts. I was lucky enough to study Arnis for a little while. Is your art similar to Aki-Jutsu? I had a boyfriend who was (and is) a very dedicated student and teacher. I'll check out your myspace.

Joni,

You are looking great! I know, I know...it doesn't matter if someone says you look great (see, I read your posts), but seriously, you look awesome.

Massimiliano,
We have got to get you a shorter name :) Anyway, those double workouts are great, huh? Won't make that mistake again...actually, this morning I don't feel as bad as I thought I would so I am thankful for that. I am going to do some stretching today and I should be good to go. I think what didn't help yesterday was that I was wearing heels (and will be again later on today) so that puts extra pressure on the calves. But it's necessary for my work. But I'll live. It is so so worth it! Thanks for checking up on me!

Christy,
Thanks! Jujitsu (as I practice it, which is traditional Japanese, not Brazilian, which is really Judo) is actually somewhat related to Aki. We incorporate some of the techniques used in several different arts which then offsprang into arts of their own. More info than you needed I'm sure but I have been studying it for 14 years and have been teaching for about 7. I love it. I could go on but I won't bore you. Anyway, thanks for the comment and I'll see you soon!

Mike,
Thanks! Something funny I have noticed (and remember now from when I was in shape before) - it is easier to take compliments when you are really working hard on how you look. You feel more sure of yourself and you know you are improving so it is just more like "I know, thanks for noticing". And on here, I know everyone is sincere and all working toward the same goals so you understand the journey. Thanks and have a great day!

Joni, at the risk of sounding repetitive and boring and I know you don't believe it but...."you are looking...well..HOT." Well done keep on shredding.

Hi Joni,
I was so pleased to see that timid little smile! Looks so good. I have always thought that double cardio each day would surely do a great job on fat loss...just might try it. Am waiting to be able to breathe with this weight stuff, but as soon as I feel strong enough, am going to give it a go.
You are doing sooooooo good!

Love your blog! But I'm confused about your eating plan - it's quite unique from the steady 50/30/20 BFFM plan I'm on.
So you're doing 4 days low carbs, then a protein only day, and then all fruit? How many carbs, protein grams, why fruit? I would be very interested in hearing about your strategy. Thanks for any info and keep up the great work!! :D

I know you're on a trip, but I wanted to stop in and tell you, you are looking good. It's so impressive that you're sending in those photos and stickin' to this even though you're away. I LOVE the SMILE. You've lost inches EVERYWHERE. It really shows. You must be totally psyched. Great job. This is going so good I can barely believe it.

Man, it seems like Sunday will never get here. Know that your comments and blogs are definitely missed, and that you return is much anticipated. :) Very impressive sticking with the shred knowing you have a trip.

If you get a chance to read the millions of blogs when you get back, you'll notice the word INTEGRITY comes up a lot. I wonder where we all got the idea from?

Loved your myspace page. That celebrity look-a-like thing. Wow, I'm not a 90% match with anyone.

Hope you're having fun and shredding hard!

Great job still sending in those photos. Did you see you are a "Certified Shredder" now? It's so cool. Can't wait til your back!!!

Hey everyone!
Thanks for all the comments while I was gone - it was certainly an experience doing this while out of my controlled environment. I have a lot to catch up on but wanted to reply to each of you:
Suzette - Thanks, my smile is easier to muster the further on we get in this so it's getting there!
Lilla - Thanks for checking me out! I am doing the Metabolic Surge plan which is another e-book promoted by Adam on his RTP website (see blogger roll). It is 5 days low carb, one day all protien, one day all fruit, then 5 days low fat and moderate carbs with a single reward meal on the last day for a total of 12 days. You do that cycle 3 times along with various types of exercise outlined in the book. I would highly recommend it if you get tired with sticking to a certain type of nutrition plan easily.
Christy - Thanks for all the messages, I haven't had time to get around to all the blogs yet but I will eventually today, I am really looking forward to see how everyone else has been doing! I did see that I am an official "certified shredder" - that's so cool! I am really enjoying this whole experience so much it's hard to describe!
Andrew, Massimiliano, Diane - Thanks for the support and comments - check out the entries I am putting up on my blog to catch up on the days that I didn't post and all my latest expliots!

I'll be checking up on all of you as the day goes on to get the latest but I know all of you are doing well - see you soon!
