Day 131 - Tough day

I'm going to make this short - lots to post tomorrow but I wanted to do today's update at least. Today was rough because it was all protein and I was in a lot of pain. It was all soreness but it really felt bad today as far as stopping me from moving at all sometimes. Plus I didn't have to work and it was snowy here so I didn't leave the house and I think the less I move around, the worse it is. However, I started to do my cardio this morning and I just couldn't get through it. Between the pain and low energy, I had to quit. I didn't want to have to say that I did, but that's the reality. I guess all that work the last few days has really caught up with me, as well as the lack of carbs shorting my energy. I was good for a while, but after 5 days of it, I think my body is ready for something. Then of course it was all protein today so that was tough as well but I hit all the parameters I was supposed to. Tomorrow is all fruit so at least I get carbs but I know that is the toughest day. Then I have 10 days that will be easier to handle. Plus tomorrow is a day of rest so hopefully I can recover fully. I guess I overdid it being gung-ho to get back on MS full throttle. But that's not going to stop me from keeping that intensity when I work out next because that's what I have to do to get results. Michael commented that I should change my lower body workout if I am unhappy with the results and I think that I already have, actually, since I was unable to do squats for a very long time and then when I could, it was during last month when I was not very dedicated to my workouts. So I think that I will improve from here, or at least I hope I do. If not, I'll make more changes, but I have been through enough change for this week :) Thanks for the advice Michael. So that's today, I'll have my pics up tomorrow and hopefully more energy and less pain. Hooya!

REWIND - Day 40 - The aftermath

Well I say that like the aftermath is bad but it was actually good. I woke up and weighed myself, confident that I would not have gained weight but was still curious, and I was actually down a pound! HA! That's certainly never happened in my life history of Thanksgiving! What a great feeling to not have one meal ruin your progress, and all the guilt associated with that! I have really turned a corner now, I think, mentally, because if I can get through a day all about food then I can get through anything! And I have that feeling to spur me on through the rest of the holidays too!
So for my workout, all I had to do was HIIT and it was awesome with the tiny exception that my quads are sore but I got through it. I love not having to drag myself through 30 or 45 min of cardio to feel like I am doing something. 15 min and done! Why did I not find out about this sooner? So anyway, just lazed around, did not go shopping I am not sadistic like some of these people around here. My mom was at the mall at 3am. Who does that? Everyone, apparently, she said she couldn't find a parking space! Okay, I am just don't need a sale that bad. Anyway, it was nice to just relax with my husband on his day off, and we planned the meals for the upcoming week so I could go grocery shopping and have everything ready to go. I can't believe it's my last week of MS already! I'm actually a little scared about the 10 day recovery period because I am not sure what I am going to do as far as eating "normally" as it says. I feel like I am eating pretty normally now, just with some guidelines, so I guess I'll just continue the same way, just being able to have carbs, fat, and protein all in the same meal again will be interesting :) But I am so happy with my progress I can't even say so I'll be looking forward to the second round of MS coming up that's for sure. Today was all protein and it was pretty easy. I miss having other things but it's only one day and I still feel fine, it's just a mental thing, and it gets better each time I do it. I actually think I like it because it proves to myself that I am in control more and more. It's weird I guess, hard to explain, but I like being able to deprive myself of something for a little while and stick to my goals by doing it. Makes me proud in the end. What can I say, I guess I am a little sadistic... :)

Day 16 - Ahhh the soreness

Yes today was all about the soreness. In a good way. I know I did my workout correctly at least. My calves are still sore from 2 days ago and my quads and triceps are sore from yesterday. All I had was HIIT today but it was tough. Plus I found out after I had already done it that I misinterpreted the directions and did twice as much as I was supposed to do! Oops! Well extra cardio is always helpful but boy my legs did not like it. Then I had Jujitsu tonight. So right now I can barely move. I think tomorrow I will be paying for this but it is a rest day so perfect timing. I am so enjoying this MS plan, it was made for me! I can't wait until tomorrow for some fruit, though, I have been extrememly low carb and today was no carb so it is a welcome change!
Just went around to everyone's blog and checked the progress - we as the Shredder Council are kicking some serious fat outta here!! It is so great to be a part of this I am so glad I decided to join up! Thanks all for the encouragement and kind words so far. I will be checking up again tomorrow but will be out of town until Sunday after that so don't be alarmed if I'm not commenting or replying to your comments for a few days. Just giving you all the heads up! I'll catch up when I get back and I'll still be e-mailing my pics to Adam (not quite sure how yet but it WILL get done)! See you all soon! Here's my pics for today, and Suzette, this smile's for you :) It's still little but it will get bigger!
